Waves at Sunset
Long Beach's waves start on the western coast of the Pacific Ocean and carry all the way. I find it impossible to walk the beach without contemplating the enormity of this fact; I've never found any of the legendary items that have washed up on the shore (glass fishing globes being the most sought after items) but it doesn't really matter; every wave that washes over your feet as you stroll in the surf brings its own story.
Waves have a way of catching the light in interesting ways, particularly as the sun looms low over the horizon at sunset. I have found this impossible to capture on film, either through my own failings or those of the art itself. I keep trying.
