Vancouver Rain

There’s nothing quite like waiting in the Tim Horton’s drive through line on a rainy Vancouver morning.

Vancouver is not Toronto
In the span of about 4 hours today, I watched an Eagle circle over the Burrard Inlet from the top window of this house, got on the SeaBus for a ferry trip downtown, caught a helicopter taking off about ten 100 feet away, took the SeaBus home through a stunning sunset and then went out for an after dark mountain bike ride with no gloves on.
But I understand why some people think Toronto is better
Really, I do.
Honestly.
I mean it.
Seriously.

Cops Don’t All Eat Doughnuts, But They All Drink Coffee
Bean Around the World at 20th & Main attracts an interesting crowd of folks;most notably a fairly regular crowd of cops.
The parking lot, as a result, tends to take on a fairly interesting look: as an example, the Volvo parked in between 3 police cars (one of them containing Spiker, one of the Vancouver Police’s four legged finest; I don’t know what the car theft rate here is, but I’m betting its below the national average.

That boat out there—-although its hard to tell—is the Sheila Ann parked in the Burrard Inlet on January 29th; the Sheila Ann is owned by a little company called Canada Steamship Lines which is (sorry…was) owned by a guy named Paul Martin who is now your Prime Minister. Seemed to be riding a little low in the water: I wonder how much space $160 million dollars might occupy?
